Google My Business is a Google product that will show all your relevant store info right within a search, helping you stand out in search results.

Once you setup your Google My Business account your store will show up in searches with your store’s contact information, operating hours, overall Google+ ratings, easy share buttons and more.

How do I get started on Google My Business?

You can create your account for free, you just need to have a Google account. Once you’re logged in to your Google account you can create your Google My Business account.

When creating your account you will first of all be asked to find your store on Google Maps, for that you will need to enter an address. Your address doesn’t have to be an address for a brick-and-mortar store, you can just enter the address from which you ship your orders.

Once your address is found on the map click to add your business.

If you don’t have a brick-and-mortar store, or don’t offer customer service at the address you provided, just choose the I deliver goods and services to my customers at their location option.

Next, you will be asked to verify your address. The default option is to verify your address by sending a postcard to the address you’ve given, which can take up to 2 weeks. But, you can also verify your account instantly with a Google Webmaster account. If you haven’t yet created one, read our chapter on how to create your Google Webmaster account.

Once you’ve verified your site you will be able to manage your account right from your Google+ page and automatically your additional store information will show in search results.
